Copenhagen to NEOM, Saudi Arabia
Export, import, clearance and white glove delivery by one provider
Exporter and Importer of Record for enterprise IT: Copenhagen to NEOM, Saudi Arabia
- For companies that cannot afford customs surprises, shipment holds, or uncontrolled last-mile delivery.
A leading technology supplier based in Denmark had sold enterprise IT equipment to a buyer based in NEOM, the Saudi giga-project, for delivery to its project office. The client held no export licence in Denmark and no licence to import into Saudi Arabia, with three customs jurisdictions to cross. S A G Logistic Services LLC took ownership of the entire chain.
The client and the buyer are not named, in line with our non-disclosure agreement.

The brief
The buyer needed the goods at its NEOM project office, routed through Dubai, and the client needed one trusted provider to export, fly, import and deliver them.
- The decisive factor: compliance at both ends
- The job called for one provider to carry compliance in Denmark and Saudi Arabia, in one accountable chain. High value cargo needs more than ordinary freight: it needs specialised handling end to end.
The Journey, Step By Step
How S A G Logistic Delivered

Documents verified before departure
Complete documentation comes first: we accept a shipment only once every document is fully accurate. Both invoices and the air waybill were verified for descriptions, quantities, values, origin and HS codes, and our team arranged all paperwork at origin and destination. For the UAE leg, we confirmed the Trade Licence (TL) and VAT Certificate (TRN), both key requirements for any UAE movement.

Exporter of Record (EOR) from Denmark
We assigned the right entity within our European EOR network to export the goods in the client's place promptly, managing origin compliance in full.

Air freight to Dubai
Dubai served as our GCC airport gateway. Because the laptops carry lithium-ion batteries contained in equipment, the cargo was declared as UN3481 under Section II of Packing Instruction 967.

Importer of Record (IOR) in Saudi Arabia
In Saudi Arabia, we acted as Importer of Record (IOR), importing the goods under our Commercial Registration (CR). Importing as IOR is our core, day-to-day work: we hold import licences in all six GCC countries and handle every customs procedure ourselves.
Who this is for
- You are selling high value technology into Saudi Arabia or the GCC, but hold no import licence or Commercial Registration (CR) there.
- Your company cannot act as exporter in its own country.
- Your buyer needs delivery to a project site, office or data centre.
- Your shipment is held by customs in the UAE or GCC with another provider.
- You are a logistics company in the USA, the UK or Europe seeking a trusted partner for IOR, customs brokerage, white glove delivery, and warehousing and distribution in the UAE and GCC.
Send your commercial invoice and destination to sales@saglogistic.com for a compliance route before anything moves.
- Clearance, conformity & DDP in Saudi Arabia
- Our customs team completed the UAE transit paperwork and the Saudi import clearance, with all Saudi conformity certificates issued before the cargo moved. Duties and taxes were settled under DDP terms. As standard, we arrange all regulated approvals in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, including CST type approval where required.
- White glove hand-over at NEOM
- When the site opened for delivery, our white glove team unloaded the full consignment and placed every carton inside the buyer's project office.
The result
SABER, PCoC and SCoC certification alone typically takes three to four weeks or more. This consignment went from Copenhagen to signed delivery at NEOM in less time than that, with one reliable partner carrying the whole job, true to our commitment: Never a stuck shipment.
Client's Feedback
“We had no export licence in Denmark and no import licence in Saudi Arabia, yet Sikandar and the S A G team handled everything end to end, from export to signed delivery at NEOM. We and our end user will continue to use their services. Thank you, S A G team.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can goods leave Europe if the seller has no export licence?
Yes. An Exporter of Record (EOR) can act as the exporter, handling origin documentation and export formalities; suitability depends on the goods and countries involved.
What is a Commercial Registration (CR), and why does it matter for imports?
Is SABER certification required for laptops and monitors in Saudi Arabia?
What does DDP to Saudi Arabia include?
Under Delivered Duty Paid (DDP), import clearance, duties and VAT are handled on the seller’s side, and the goods are delivered to the agreed address. The buyer receives the shipment without managing any import formalities.Under DDP, duty and VAT are paid before delivery and the receiver has one fixed landed cost. Under DAP, the receiver pays duty and VAT on arrival.
Can you take over a shipment stuck at customs in the GCC?
Yes. We take these shipments over from other providers, starting with a full document review, then work with customs to move the cargo to delivery.
